Karaoke time (budding "Barefoots")
Leona, our new activities director, has decided to stretch her abilities (or her vocal cords, to be precise) by running Karaoke nights at the beach bar on Wednesday nights.
Last night there was a good crowd, but it seems the parents were too shy and the kids took the mike... too cute !

I was there at the beach bar waiting for takeout and having a drink. Sorry to be blunt, but this was awful. The kids were the only decent thing I heard. Your hostess was singing painfully off key and actually said, "anyone who boos can get their asses up here to do it." I felt bad for the people sitting there eating what looked to be a nice bbq buffet and having to sit through that.
Hmm... Leona Baker is certainly no relation to Anita Baker.... but we have been getting good feedback on this.
Having said that, we run the resort from guest feedback, so if people don't like something, we change it... so time will tell (we'll give it a chance !)
Update from our second Karaoke night.. last night (Wed 6th)... it went really well, "Anita" (as she is now fondly nicknamed) was in fine voice, as were a wide variety of guests, of surprising vocal quality !
We will continue to keep an eye on entertainment value, as well as making sure we maintain the peaceful nature of the resort by keeping the volume at appropriate level and running it relatively early in the evening.
