Lighthouse Restaurant "soon come"

In the latest edition of Cayman Observer :

Guiseppe Gatta, owner of the Lighthouse Restaurant, told the Cayman Observer that he plans to reopen at the waterfront location in the middle of July.

I don't think he meant THIS July.... as that is two weeks away... but it does look like progress is being made, so hopefully in the next month or so we will see that institution re-open !

Guiseppe really needs to learn the value of dealing honestly with folks about reopening dates - this is about the 6th new date he's announced and he's missed them all... I'll believe it when I drive by and there's actually food being served.

The 6th new date ? I've told you a million times, don't exagerrate ! :)

Unless people have been here since Ivan, it is difficult to understand why people can have all of these delays, but it comes down to insurance companies and contractors operating well beyond their normal capacity, plus people "turning wishes into expectations"

In other words, no need to be so judgemental, it is tough getting things rebuilt here, and I am sure that Lighthouse want to make sure they do it right first time instead of just patching up to get open.

Thanks for update on Lighthouse.

Whenever it opens, it will be nice to have it back, and hopefully better than ever.

I would imagine it may have been easier to take the insurance money and move on to something else. We're glad Guiseppe did not take that option.
