Stingray Swim Club Meet - fighting back from Ivan!

This weekend the Stingray Swim Club put on a full (four day) swim meet, sponsored by Progressive Distributors (so lots of Gatorade etc around... they distribute it!).

After Ivan the swim programme took months to recover, and with swimming being such an intensive sport that a few months off is something that many swimmers don't come back from.

Anyway, while numbers are still down on previous years, I would guess there were still about 60 swimmers involved (including those below, who were enticed to a photo at the end by the promise of free doughnuts!)

Full results and info on Cayman Swimming on the link to the right of this blog.

This summer we are sending our senior team to the Island Games in Shetland, in the very North of Scotland... a bit cold for our Caymanian kids, but at least the pool is indoors and heated (we hope!)

(BTW, one of the kids in there holding his cool "alien swimmer" bobble head doll trophy for "high point, boys, 10 and under" is the older one of my two "flying fish".... I'm a proud Dad!)

Oh, and for Mad Bull... make sure and get MB Jr signed up for the Learn to Swim at Lions Pool in September... it's a great programme, and free.... all kids should take advantage of it !
