What's with the run around?

"The Cayman Islands cordially invites runners of all experience levels to lace up their shoes and join us for a jaunt along the sugar sand beaches and through the scenic neighborhoods of the Caribbean's safest, most stunningly beautiful locale".

That's the message from the organisers of the Cayman Islands Marathon.

Stretching along a fast, flat, IAAF-sanctioned route ideal for posting great times, the Cayman Islands Marathon is billed as the perfect time for friends and family to experience first hand the legendary warmth and wonder of our magnificent islands.

The Cayman Islands Marathon welcomes half-marathoners, half-marathon walkers and 4-person relay runners as well. You must be at least 16 years of age and in good health to participate. The marathon, which benefits The Cayman Islands Cadet Corps and the Cayman Islands Cancer Society, must be completed within a 6-hour period and will be measured using a state-of-the-art computerised chip timing system.

The event begins at 5am on Sunday December 3rd. (Visit the Reef's accommodation page to check for availability at this time if you haven't planned your trip already).

Participants will receive:

An Official Cayman Islands Marathon T-shirt
A specially-designed commemorative Finisher's Medal
A custom Finisher's Certificate
