The Reef says goodbye to Linera

Last Friday we said a sad farewell to Linera Grant, who has been a familiar face behind the front desk since shortly after we opened our doors in May 2000. From a shy young school leaver, she has matured into a confident, able and highly professional young woman who we were proud to have be the first face our guests would see as they entered the resort.

Still, life moves on, and Linera has decided to try her luck in the "big city" of George Town, and we wish her well.

I am sure all friends of The Reef will miss her smiling face, not to mention that incredible foghorn laugh, you know, the one that sounds disturbingly like the squawk of Castro the cockatoo..hmm.. methinks those two spent too much time together over the years in that lobby !

We will miss Linera, she was always helpful and remembed our name each year. Not a common name to remember. If I had a problem I could always count on her to take care of it.

As one of Linera's closest friends, I also will miss being able to call Linera at a familiar number (I also answered it for 2 plus years!!. Although, for me anyway, it will never be goodbye (as we still talk atleast ten times every day) it's always sad to think of people 'changing'.. but change is good sometimes.Good luck to Linera --- I know that she will be as perfect at her new post as she was at The Reef and that her new 'friends' will appreciate and enjoy working with her as much as I did!

We too will miss Linera. She has the most beautiful smile and cheerful attitude. It was always fun to chat with her at the desk. Take care and the best of everything.
